  • Delegate registration includes all keynotes, panels and breakout sessions October 19th-20th, the complimentary October 18th Black Cultural Centre Open House excursion and October 21st Black Cultural Centre Brunch with H.E. David Comissiong.

  • Registration fees provide the major source of funding for participation of community members.

* Student delegates must provide valid student ID for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Are you interested in attending the USS Conference and you are a community/cultural stakeholder, activist, artist, or non-professional researcher/scholar? Limited community registrations may be available with the support of the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia and the Province of Nova Scotia. Click here for more information.

International Delegates:

How to Travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia:

You may need a visitor visa or an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to travel to Canada. Visa processing times may take 12 weeks or longer. If you require a visa to enter Canada, you are cautioned that you are unlikely to receive one in time to attend the conference. As the conference organizers, we do not control processing of visa applications. Please visit the official website of the Canadian government for the most up-to-date advice according to your country of departure.

Visa Invitation Letters
The USS Conference organizers will provide visa letters to the registered and verified USS Conference participants. This does not guarantee entry into Canada if you require a visa. Visa processing times may take 12 weeks or longer. 

To receive your invitation letter, please send an email us at USS Conference Support with the following information once you have completed your conference registration:
Your full legal name
Your address
Name of your University/Institution
Passport number and country of issue
Date of birth and country of birth

Complete information and a completed registration are required to receive a letter of invitation. The letter of invitation is not an official visa document.
